HOURGLASS IMMACULATE LIQUID TO POWDER FOUNDATION REVIEW

Hourglass is one of high end brand. It is expensive, but their products are so good and it's worth the damn money. I did not expect my self to buy this foundation, but there is no regret at all. At the other hand, I am in love with this foundation.

It cost me around SGD 87 (I guess) to get this product. It is hella expensive for a foundation, but I just really want to try this one, since it claims skincare benefit as well. In Sephora website, it says that in a four week consumer study of 30 women with oily, acne-prone skin (which I am both) :
100% reported an improvement in overall skin appearance and skin smoothness
100% reported that the product worked without drying their skin
83% reported a decrease in oil production and the need for touch-ups
80% reported a visible improvement in acne scars
70% reported a visible improvement in pore size
63% reported a reduction in severity of breakouts

This foundation claims a lot. I have tested this foundation and I have my own opinion about their claims. Some are good, some not really. This foundation gives me light to medium coverage. And their color selection is not that good. I use shades Shell. At first, I was shocked that this shade is so light and might not a match for my skin, but after you blend this product into your skin it turns (oxidized) to darker shade. This foundation is oil free and has a pump which is good.

This foundation consistency is pretty thick but lightweight.

For improvement in skin appearance and smoothness. I've used this foundation in 3 ways, with fingers, buffing brush and beauty blender. In most of the time beauty blender gives me the best finish, but in this case it is not. For me to see the best coverage of this foundation please use buffing brush. This method do makes my skin appears smoother and it covers my pores and looks much better than using beauty blender. But I do still need concealer on my zits.

For the product worked without drying the skin. Yup it is the truth. It does not cling to my dry area or dry patches. And it does not makes me feel dry. It is a liquid to powder foundation, and I do still use powder on the top to set everything.

Claim no 3 decrease in oil production, well.. not so much. Since it is a matte foundation, it holds the oil much better than my other foundation. And I do still need touch up, but after 4-5 hours after applying this foundation. It's doing pretty good job on holding up with my oil.

Improvement in acne scars and pore size ? Also reduction in severity of breakouts ? Nope nope and nope. My acne scars still there, and pore is still looking big. And still breaking out. But this doesn't make me love this foundation any less, since it makes my skin look flaw-less. It does not transfer much, only around my nose area which incredibly oily. And it does not feel heavy on my skin. The only downside that you need to blend this product ASAP, since it sets so fast.

Conclusion
Pros :
+ Matte finish
+ Does not cling into dry areas
+ Holding up my oil pretty well
+ Light to medium coverage
+ Paraben and  phthalates free
+ Oil free
+ Does not break me out

Cons:
- Expensive
- The color oxidize once you blends them
